“SUNG-QU” is a fusion gourmet restaurant of Peruvian and Korean cuisine that brings its customers the best of both worlds, plus a touch of personal style. The name SUNG-QU, was born from a portmanteau. First, there is the word “sun-qu” that means “heart” in quechua, the Incas’ language from Peru; then, there is the word “sung”, meaning “achievement” in Korean. With the blend of these words and sounds, the passion this unique place share for both cultures’ gastronomy is expressed. Similarly, the concept behind the logo came from wanting to evoke both Peruvian and Korean essence with a contemporary look. For that purpose, the stacking tendency of the Korean alphabet was selected as a dominant representative element, whereas a serif typeface was chosen for a more western feel, giving it a “dazzle” appearance while keeping it readable.
